History

In the summer of 1990, a culturally diverse team of ministers and leaders gathered in Columbus, Ohio. Under the leadership of Bishop Joseph L. Garlington, Sr. began to seek the Lord for direction for a common burden they all shared. The topic was reconciliation, and concern was how to begin to address an area of life and ministry that was woefully neglected by the church.

Each person involved was gifted in some strategic area that produced an unexpected synergism. The Holy Spirit was very obviously present, and there was a sense that He gave birth to birth to something during those days. This team has continued to meet, often twice a year. The initial group has grown quantitatively and qualitatively; it now includes men and women who are uniquely gifted by God for the strategic hour. Their combined accomplishments in their varied fields of endeavor and noteworthy.

The team embraces a depth of experience in church government, education, and successful careers in the marketplace. Some have excelled in business and now serve the church with the same measure of excellence. The team members are recognized throughout the Body of Christ for their spiritual maturity and insight.

They are prophets, apostles, teachers, pastors, and evangelists. Some are accomplished musicians and composers; several are authors as well as practitioners, missionaries, and statesmen. Most are visionaries who have touched deeply their spheres of influence. Since most possess an international perspective, they are ideally suited to embrace the present work of the Holy Spirit in the world. Each has a passion to see the body of Christ move in its full measure to accept its destiny to lead by example.
